So you want a commission...

Not every dog can be summed up with a sticker sheet or a generic print. Sometimes you want your dog — bones and all — turned into skeletal art. And if you have a mixed-breed dog, now's your chance. That’s what Bark & Bone commissions are for.

Here’s everything you need to know about the process, what makes a good photo, and why we’re retiring the “LITE” option.

Step 1: Place Your Order

Any breed, pure or mixed, is fair game.

You can add notes if your dog’s cropped, docked, or has unique features you’d like reflected. I'll reach out if there's any confusion on my part, and there'll be plenty of opportunities to fill in any gaps as your project progresses.

Step 2: Don't forget to attach your photos

There's space provided to submit up to 5 photos — preferably from the side. The clearer, the better. I don't just use your photos to get a general feeling for your dog's features; I literally use them to line up a skeleton. If you don't have a good reference photo, simply send what you have. If needed, I'll reach out. And, if in doubt, feel free to take a quick side pic of your dog with your smartphone and submit it.

Because here's the thing...

I use that original photo as a reference. But, afterwards, I can rearrange it to come up with any pose you like. Have a good pose of Remi standing, but want her sitting? No problem. Stanley dock dives, but you don't have a picture of that? Cool. Let me know your pose preference on your order form (the part where it requests "additional information"). Send me something where I can see their structure, and I'll recycle those bones into something more interesting...

But, I need at least ONE good side shot to get me started.

Step 3: Approve your draft

Allow 48-72 hours for delivery

A draft image will be emailed for your approval. If you requested your dog in a new pose, this is where you'll see your request. If there's something else you'd like me to fix or try, now's the time to let me know.

Step 4: File Delivery

Allow up to 1 week for delivery

A set of finalized files will be sent with your requested edits. As part of your digital package, you'll receive:

💀 A set of digital wallpapers for your tech

💀 High-resolution (300 dpi) files you can use for DIY poster printing. These files are good for printing up to 40x40."

💀 PNG files you can use for merch. Think mugs, tees, tumblers...anything your little heart desires, along with the personal use license to do so.

All files are sent through Dropbox. You don't need a subscription to be able to open them.

If you need a file in a larger or different format, simply reach out, and I'll throw that together for you.

If you have any questions about creating merch, I'd be happy to chat about that, too. I've printed my art on everything from stickers to tees and blankets...and I have opinions about what works and what doesn't.

Step 5: Choose your Add-ons

Our commissions are digital first.

Nothing is shipped...up to this point.

However, there's a selection of Add-ons to choose from if the idea of DIY gives you a headache.

Choose from:

Sticker sheets (your dog’s bones, just portable)

Mini prints (Two 5x5 or a single 8x8)

Larger wall art and decor -
large-scale prints, acrylics, blankets, and desk mats — handled by our print partners in Canada and the U.S.

Please allow 3-4 weeks for production and shipment of physical goods.

REMEMBER: Add-ons can be ordered at any time once your dog's X-ray is complete.

No rush.

Why LITE is Going Away

Here’s the deal: LITE was supposed to be a simpler option - featuring fewer edits and fewer perks, no custom pose requests, and a faster turnaround.

But the truth?

I fuss over photos — always. Whether it’s “LITE” or “FULL,” I zoom, tweak, and refine until the bones look right. Which means LITE never actually saved time. It just created a middle ground that didn’t really work.

It’s not you, it’s me.

So as of Sept 15, 2025, the LITE commission option will be retired.

Going forward, FULL Commissions are the only option — and honestly, they’re the version that should have ruled all along.

Yes. You can still grab a LITE commission before I pull the plug. Should you visit this link to learn the difference between LITE and FULL commission options before ordering?

Also yes. ⬇️
